Falmouth

Few other towns in Jamaica have retained their original architecture to the same degree as Falmouth, which has a faded Georgian splendor. The city, 37km east of Montego Bay, has been the capital of Trelawny parish since 1790. An enormous new cruise-ship dock was being built on the eastern edge of Falmouth at the time of this research. Locals are divided over its impact. Some eagerly await the hordes of foreign visitors and their wallets, while others bemoan environmental and cultural impacts to sleepy Falmouth.
